If something goes wrong, the worst thing you can do is improvise while stressed. Keep the response simple: get somewhere safe, call the right service, and avoid making the situation bigger through panic or argument.
If It Is a Medical Emergency
In Spain, the general emergency number is 112. Use it immediately if the situation feels serious.
Warning signs include:
- chest pain or heart palpitations
- severe panic that is not easing
- persistent vomiting
- difficulty breathing
- loss of consciousness or collapse
You can also go directly to the nearest hospital emergency department, listed locally as Urgencias.
If It Is a Bad Cannabis Reaction
Not every bad reaction is a medical emergency, but it still needs calm handling.
- Move the person to a quiet place.
- Offer water.
- Reduce noise, lights, and pressure.
- Do not add alcohol or other substances.
- Escalate to 112 if symptoms become severe or frightening.
If Police Stop You
If you are stopped by Guardia Urbana or Mossos d'Esquadra, keep the interaction controlled.
- Stay calm and keep your tone respectful.
- Show identification if requested.
- Do not volunteer extra explanations.
- Keep any paperwork you are given.
- Do not sign documents you do not understand.
You are not helping yourself by arguing in the street. You are helping yourself by staying composed and keeping records.
Never Make It Worse
- Do not try to bribe police
- Do not run
- Do not turn a fine or stop into a confrontation
- Do not accept verbal claims of "cash only" punishment from random people on the street
